Frequently asked questions

About appraisals

Can I use a private appraisal to apply for a loan?

Usually not. The bank requires its own format and an appraiser from its approved list. If you already know you will finance, request a bank appraisal directly.

Do banks accept Valor Seguro's appraisals?

Eng. Juan Alexis Cedeño is an approved appraiser for Banreservas, Banco Popular, BHD, Banco Ademi and several credit unions. Before starting, confirm with your loan officer that the appraiser is on the bank's list.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

The fee depends on the type, size, location and complexity of the property and on the purpose of the appraisal, following the minimum fees of the Dominican Institute of Appraisers (ITADO). The report is usually delivered 2 to 3 business days after the inspection.

What if I don't have the title yet?

The certificate of title (or the property's legal document, such as the promise of sale or sales contract) must be available before the visit. Without it we cannot carry out the inspection.
